Pictured is Ada Florance White Curtis. In 1926, Florence moved to Folsom where she became a restaurateur when she purchased the Golden Glo on Sutter Street. The Golden Glo was a few doors down on Sutter Street from Rumsey’s Hardware Store, among the other downtown Folsom shops and businesses.
The Golden Glo was also a local stop for the busses that came through Folsom from Sacramento to points east on Highway 50. Above the Golden Glo were about seven or eight rooms. She lived in one that looked out over Sutter Street and rented out the others.
Thank you Diane Stout for contributing to the Folsom’s Telegraph’s weekly Vintage Folsom.
