Friday Dec 05 2008 comments Editor's view of Folsom tree lighting By: Don Chaddock/The Telegraph -A +A The choir from Folsom's Journey Church sings Christmas carols before the tree lighting ceremony on Friday night. The group will also perform on Dec. 24 at their church, 450 Blue Ravine Road, at 7 and 9 p.m. The McKenzie family is still fairly new to town and they thoroughly enjoyed the festivities. From left is Kaitlin, 13, Theresa, 18-month-old Lauren and 11-year-old Nick, who is also with Boy Scout Troop 237 (the kids responsible for lighting the 1,000 luminaries). The Stage Nine Theater players perform songs from "Holiday in the Hills" before the town's tree lighting ceremony on Friday night. A large crowd turned out to watch the tree lighting ceremony as this shot looking up Wool indicates. Folsom's Christmas tree is adorned with 5,000 LED lights donated by PG&E. The tree can be found in front of the Folsom Chamber of Commerce building on Wool Street.
