The U10 Folsom Flames won the “Game-On” Super Series Baseball tournament held July 9 at the Mather Sports Complex. The Flames went undefeated in four games leading up to the championship. The win also helped the team stack up the highest points among all Super Series 10U baseball teams in Northern California — with 2,025 total points and a 12th-place finish in the national point chase. The players have consistently over-achieved all season, according to Manager Patrick Wilson. “It’s a testament to how hard they worked this year,” he said. “I am extremely proud of these first-year, travel ball players.” The 10U Flames finished their tournament schedule with an impressive 17 wins against 12 losses. They won two tournaments, finished second twice, and appeared in six semi-final games. Members of the team include Mark Powers, Evan Swartz, Dominic Baciocco, Branden Funk, Jason Wiese, Matthew Jenner, Tyler Nycum, Chad Wilson, Taylor Ingnaccio, Hunter Genenbacher, Tanner Sims, Nick Marchi and Max Simmons. Wilson coaches the team along with Mike Wiese, John Baciocco, Dwayne Sims and Dave Simmons.
