Sam Scheuer and Vivian Lam placed first and Folsom High’s freshman-sophomore girls won The Other Meet Saturday at Granite Regional Park. Scheuer and Lam nearly led from start to finish in their respective races, Scheuer finishing the 5K course in 16 minutes, 9 seconds, while Lam posted her personal-best time of 18:57. The varsity boys placed third as a team. Following Scheuer were scoring teammates Jake Goodwin (5th, 16:51), Blake Shaw (17th, 17:33), Cristiano Bobiles (24th, 17:58) and Tim Scott (27th, 18:08). Jordan Haines also ran and finished 52nd in 19:44. Ashley Anderson joined Lam in the varsity girls’ race and finished in 23:27 to place 34th. Muna Alhamad and Katie Bock were the top-two finishers in the freshman-sophomore girls’ race, leading the team to a first-place finish. Alhamad won the race in 14:16 with Bock finishing 10 seconds behind. Lindsey Bailey and Michelle Hanson placed seventh and eighth, Bailey completing the race in 15:44 with Hanson five seconds back. Catherine Kim (34th, 17:35) and Abbi Johnson (19:19) rounded out the team. The freshman-sophomore boys took third in the race, led by Logan Kohne, who placed fifth in 12:16. Weston Dewitt placed 15th in 12:41 with Jon Kretschmann right behind in 16th in 12:47. Greg Aitken (18th, 12:53) and Travis Vo (25th, 13:10) rounded out the scorers. Also running included Matt Hopper (38th, 13:37), Parker Nelson (47th, 13:58), Matt Merrill (14:39), Andrew Marino (15:08), Kyle Cardenas (15:18), Andrew Reed (15:57), Santiago Cervantes (16:02) and Wil Randall (15:59). At the junior varsity level, Pete Merrill (20th, 14:42) and Cameron Estep (15th, 19:36) competed for the squad.
