Hernandez, Mad Dawgs continue to wrestle well

Tony Hernandez continued to cruise, four other Mad Dawgs came home with gold medals and 11 others earned silver and bronze medals at a freestyle wrestling tournament held at Pleasant Grove High School on Saturday. Hernandez earned his fifth-straight tournament championship, wrestling in the Cadet, 107-pound division. He improved his freestyle record to 19-0. “He will be seriously tested Saturday at the Sacramento Area Wrestling Association Individual Championships,” coach Duane Fidel said. Triston Fitzpatrick (Midget, 61), Sam Whitney (Novice, 116), Nick Fiegener (Schoolboy, 104) and Tevenn Lewis (Cadet, 175) also won their age divisions and weight classes. Ashley Booth (Bantam, 49), Jeffrey Skyrud (Midget, 80), Gavin Davis-Smith (Novice, 69), Curtis Booth (Novice, 66) and Matthew Parker (Cadet, 122) earned silver medals. Andrew Swart (Midget, 67), Dalton Boyer (Novice, 67), Matt Mitchell (Schoolboy, 120), Kyle Parrott (Schoolboy, 95) and Nick Owen (Schoolboy, 107) came home with bronze medals.
