Tuesday’s Big 8 Conference Tournament No. 10 turned out to be a sloppy one as Ancil Hoffman Golf Course provided a tough challenge for all competitors.

The Folsom Lake College women golfers were one player short due to illness, thus were unable to count in the team scoring.  Individually, Janet Jones-Gilliam led the Falcons with her 94, followed by Sara Gulden’s 99.  According to coach Mark Hatala, Jones-Gilliam struggled with her tee shots but had a good short game, whereas Gulden's day was just the opposite.  Gulden drove the ball well, but couldn’t get her approach shots in position to score.  Jessica Mendoza showed some improvement with her round of 139, especially considering the difficult course conditions.

Folsom Lake College's final tournament is Tuesday at Spring Creek Country Club in Ripon.
