Folsom Lake College’s men’s golf team will try to win a Big 8 Conference title Thursday at Alister McKenzie Golf Course in Sacramento. The Falcons had a shot to wrap up the title on Tuesday, but finished behind co-winners Santa Rosa and Delta, second place American River, Butte, who finished third, and fourth-place Modesto. Folsom Lake shot a 388, 12 strokes behind Santa Rosa and Delta. With the win, Santa Rosa crawled back into a tie with Folsom Lake for first in the league standings, as both teams enter Thursday’s final tournament with 126 points. Cole Zarecky led Folsom Lake by shooting a 75, followed by James Millward (77), Jake Kroeker (78), Tom Crowther (79), Steve Mesich (79) and Luke Ivazian (88). Folsom Lake failed to take advantage of playing on its home course at Rancho Murieta, but can still get the job done Thursday if they shoot a lower score than Santa Rosa at Alister McKenzie.
