Folsom Jr. Peewees, Mighty Mites win

Jr. Peewee team defeats Oakmont 14-0 Another strong defensive performance by the Jr. Bulldogs Jr. Peewee team, led by Logan Bingham, helped Folsom to a 14-0 win, as they held the Jr. Vikings to just two first downs. The offense scored two touchdowns, one by Jack Crandall and another by Dylan Jorge, followed by a strong PAT kick by Davin Simmons. Mighty Mites are 2-1 The Mighty Mites have posted a 2-1 record through three games this season. After a confidence-boosting win over the American River Jr. Raiders, 38-0, the Bulldogs traveled to Oakmont to face the Jr. Vikings. From the initial defensive series, the Bulldogs were ready for the test. The stingy defense allowed a net of zero yards in the game. The defensive line of Colby Christierson, Isaac Dugars, Alex Wong, Logan Harrison, Harrison Craft, and Lucas Jorge were great. Christierson had a fumble recovery and Wong added two more. The offense was just as impressive, as from the first play of scrimmage CJ Hutton hit paydirt with a 45-yard race to the end zone. The offense racked up 315 yards in the first half, scoring six times to put the game away at 38-0.The offensive line was key in opening up the holes. CJ Hutton led the way with three TDs, Brady Huddleston had two, and Cy Watson had one. Luke Simmons was also very impressive with 50 yards rushing. In the second half several more players moved the ball, amassing another 120 yards. Will Streich, Levi Tupou, Jacob Huntington, Lucas Jorge, Garret Heisinger, and Colby Diehl all ran hard. Diehl ran for his first football touchdown of his young career. The Mighty Mites return home to Livermore Park Saturday at 10 a.m. in a tough match-up with the Rocklin Jr. Thunder.
