Folsom High’s cross country team is off to solid start to the season. At Saturday’s Willow Hills Relays, the varsity boys’ placed second overall with the fourth-fastest time ever and set a new school relay record for the meet with a time of 1 hour, 29 minutes and 39 seconds. Sam Scheuer’s time of 17:22 was the fifth fastest by a Folsom High runner. Vinnie Morin followed in 17:58 followed by Aaron Burkhead (17:59), Mike Kinoshita (18:09) and Jon Barrows (18:20). The junior varsity boys placed second in 95:25 and also set the school record for the fastest Folsom JV team of all-time. Jake Goodwin led the way with a time of 18:11. Austin Bailey finished in 19:03 and was followed by Ryley Hoffman (19:15), Blake Shaw (19:17) and David Hanson (19:39). Cristiano Bobiles placed fifth in the individual race in 19:06. Vivian Lam placed third in 20:48, the seventh-fastest time by a Folsom runner. The freshman-sophomore boys placed fourth in 52:43. Tim Scott was the top finisher in 9:43. Weston Dewitt completed his run in 10:27 with Peter Merrill (10:16), Jordan Denny (10:50) and Jim Broff (11:36) rounding out the scorers. Katie Bock won the freshman-sophomore girls ran in a school-record time of 10:44. Jenn Rees placed eighth in 12:09, a two-minute personal-best time, while Ashley Anderson ran her best time by three minutes in 12:50 and placed 15th. Kaeti Park ran 18th in 13:10 for a two-minute personal-record.
