The Folsom Lake College women’s golf team shot 371 to take fourth place in yesterday’s Big 8 Conference tournament No. 2 at Bidwell Golf Club in Chico. The Falcons improved one spot over last week’s opener, as they shot 34 strokes better than Sierra College. The 371 was an eight-stroke improvement over last year’s team score on this same course. Lesley Winford led the team with a round of 81, followed by Kristin Daniels at 89, Heather LaVergne at 100 and Morgan Schley at 101. Annamaria Armijo-Hussein improved 21 shots from last week while turning in a 116. Coach Mark Hatala was very pleased with his team’s improvement. “I see us becoming very competitive in the coming weeks,” Hatala said. Folsom’s team scored of 371 trailed Sac City, 330, Modesto, 339 and Delta, 355. The Falcons have two tournaments next week, Sept. 13 at Whitney Oaks in Rocklin and Sept. 15 at Bartley Cavanaugh in Sacramento.
