Beer Week; time to toast our Folsom Chamber

This Saturday, a brand new event is coming to Folsom. It’s all part of the newly declared Beer Week. It’s being slated as “Tap into a Cold One” at the Palladio, under the cover of the indoor parking garage.

With 40 or more area breweries, food samplings and live music all in the midst of scene complete with fire pits and many donning their “Folsom Beer Week” beanies, this is sure to be a great event for the Folsom community. This community is known to be “distinctive by nature,” and we certainly have a number of areas we are distinct in. One of the growing areas in which we have been growing in the way of distinction is the craft beer industry.

This latest beer-related event is another product of the Greater Folsom Partnership and the Folsom Chamber of Commerce. This group knows how to spot an opportunity and make it something great.  Last summer Tap Folsom was a huge success. Being that beer lovers enjoy the art of brew all year long, it only made sense for them to add a winter edition of beer tasting in Folsom.

Coming off their State of the City luncheon just last week, our local chamber staff has been very busy putting together all the pieces to make sure this is an event to remember. If you’re looking for something new to do in the community, I encourage you to check this one out and show your support.

I said this last summer after the Folsom Pro Rodeo, and I will say it again, our Folsom Chamber of Commerce does a tremendous job of finding ways to promote area businesses in the fashion of great events for our community. Compare their efforts to many similar organizations and you will surely see that Folsom sets the bar when it comes to a chamber going the extra mile for a community. To top it all off, they do it with a small staff and a great volunteer base.

Having experience in special event promotions myself, along with managing six newspapers in our communities, I understand what it takes to put together a quality product with the resources at hand. It doesn’t always take a large quantity of people; it takes dedicated and passionate people. Those behind events like this upcoming Beer Week and “Tap into A Cold One,” are passionate. Not just passionate about beer, passionate about making our community special and showcasing the many distinct qualities we posses in our community.

So Saturday, whether you are enjoying at evening at this great event or somewhere else, raise your glass for the hardworking staff of the Folsom Chamber and the Greater Folsom Partnership for all they do for this community. As your community newspaper, the Folsom Telegraph is proud to be a strong partner with them on all of their events from the Folsom Pro Rodeo to Tap Folsom, the State of the City, Future Folsom and now this newest Beer Week venture.
