Are you a Folsom resident who wants to see the restaurants thrive and grow with the community? The weeks of January and February are traditionally slow times for many of our partners in the restaurant sector. At the Folsom Chamber, we want to spotlight these partners in a creative way. This is one of the reasons we are launching “Folsom Beer Week” from Jan. 27 through Feb. 3 to offer a platform for fun food and beer event pairings, tap takeovers and other reasons to get out and support local establishments. A full calendar of events is available at Follow Folsom Beer Week on Facebook for last minute updates and promotions. Use the hashtag #fbw18 as you post your photos and share your experience with your neighbors!

Folsom Beer Week kicks off with “TAP into a Cold One,” a winter beer fest on Saturday, Jan. 27 from 4-7 p.m. at the Palladio. The parking garage behind Grist Beer Hall and Chicago Fire will be transformed into a fun outdoor beer venue with fire pits, games and more than 40 breweries. Tickets are available online or can be purchased at Heckle Alehouse, The Brewmeister or Grist Beer Hall. Check it all out at

The Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday, Jan. 28. Congratulations to our own esteemed Folsom High School music director, Curtis Gaesser, who is a top 10 finalist in the music educator category. Gaesser, recipient of the Folsom Chamber’s Outstanding Educator Award, has been  shaping the educational experience and future of so many local students over his dedicated career. We salute you and your many accomplishments.

Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. is the night to put on your Bulldog colors and head down to the parade in Historic Folsom to salute the state-champion football team. Come and be part of our community pride night!

On Thursday, Jan. 18, the Greater Folsom Partnership hosted Mayor Steve Miklos as he delivered the annual State of the City. It was a great presentation filled with highlights of the 2017 year along with some peeks at 2018 projects. You can view the video on the city’s website at
