Folsom/El Dorado Hills Pet Photo Contest Official rules

How to enter:
Go to your community website and select share pix from the right side of the screen. Make sure to select the checkbox for "please enter me into the Folsom/EDH Pet contest", upload your photos and you are entered! Photos will be entered into four categories for judging; Silliest Pet, Best Dressed, Best Pet Action and Cutest Pet.

Who can enter?
Any placeropolis.com member is eligible except employees of Gold Country Media, affiliated companies, sponsors or the immediate families of the aforementioned groups, or anyone engaged in the manufacture, sales, commercial finishing or commercial use of photographic goods. No purchase is necessary.

What photos are eligible?
Any digital photos of your pets are acceptable. Both black-and-white and color pictures are eligible. Photos may be enhanced using Photoshop or other digital-imaging software only for color correction or lightening or darkening the photo. No other manipulation of photos will be allowed -- entries in violation of this policy will be disqualified. You may enter your photos during any of the three weeks of the contest, starting August 20th, 2008. Deadlines to enter are at 5 p.m. September 12th. First and second place winners will be chosen in each category on September 12th.

What about getting consent?
Photos will be disqualified from the contest if the consent of any recognizable people can't be obtained.

Are there certain agreements?
Contestants give all rights to their photograph to Gold Country Media and agree that by entering they are the owner of the work and are not submitting the work of others. Contestants, you agree that Gold Country Media may publish your photo(s) for local promotion of the contest and its winners, and to identify you as the image's creator in Gold Country Media Publications.

How is judging done?
All photos will be submitted to a pets gallery and staff members of Gold Country Media will determine which category best fits the picture. Gold Country Media will be choosing the 1st and 2nd place winners in the following four categories; Silliest Pet, Best Dressed, Best Pet Action, and Cutest Pet. Gold Country Media managers will be judging the photos. Winners will be selected on September 12th, 2008. The results will be published in the Folsom and El Dorado Hills Telegraph's the following week and be displayed on the internet.

Will winners be announced?
Yes, the winners' names and photos will be published in the Folsom and El Dorado Hills Telegraph's and at http://www.placeropolis.com/winners.html. Winners will be notified by the email provided during the placeropolis.com registration.

What are the prizes?
1st Place Prize in each category is a $50 gift card. 2nd Place Prize in each category is a $25 gift card.

Legal
All decisions of the contest sponsors and judge are final. Sponsors reserve the final judgment on all matters pertaining to this contest including the right to change or modify the rules or prizes, and discontinue or extend the promotion without prior notice.
