Folsom Lake College held its 12th annual commencement ceremony Wednesday, May 20 at the Harris Center for the Arts on the Folsom college campus.
“Folsom Lake College is incredibly proud of its graduates and we can’t wait to celebrate their accomplishments,” said Folsom Lake College President Dr. Rachel Rosenthal. “We look forward to sending the class of 2015 into the future with a major celebration.”
The Folsom Lake College class of 2015 features 511 total graduates earning 746 degrees and 302 total certificates. The graduating class included six valedictorians with 4.0 grade point averages: Sarah Asnaashari, Rebecca Azucena, Jamie Hoffman, Alyssa Kristedja, Zachary Taub and Carlatta Mendoza-Pasos, who gave the valedictorian address.
Of the 2015 graduates, 67 percent earned honors or highest honors recognition and 77 percent of graduates have indicated they are transferring on to a university or college. Female students made up 63 percent of the graduating class.
The most popular degrees were Interdisciplinary Studies, Business, Psychology and Administration of Justice. The most popular certificates were in General Education-Transfer, Early Childhood Education and Project Management.
Since 2004, Folsom Lake College has provided exceptional educational opportunities to the communities of eastern Sacramento and western El Dorado counties. The college serves approximately 8,000 students at the main Folsom campus, El Dorado Center and Rancho Cordova Center.
