The Hi-Potential Basketball Camp held at Vista del Lago over recent weeks was a big hit.
The first week featured a sell-out with around 100 players, who met from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday June 25-28 at Vista del Lago High School. The second week held this week at Folsom High was for boys and girls and 50 more campers showed up.
The annual camp is for players serious about basketball and improving their game. The camp featured a near 50-50 ratio of instruction and competitive play. Forty percent of the camp concentrated on drills and skills with the rest of the camp split between individual competitions and five-on-five games. Camp organizer Mike Wall said the camp went well.
“We’re thrilled with the turnout; it’s the eighth straight year we’ve had a sell out,” Wall said. “We’re hitting the clientele we’re shooting for; players who are serious about getting better. We’ve put together a great formula for the camp, and the players enjoy it.”
