Workers from the Sierra Railroad Company did maintenance work on the Railroad Turntable in Historic Folsom Thursday morning. Sierra Railroad built the turntable in 1999 from the original plans for a turntable that was built in 1891. President of the Folsom, El Dorado & Sacramento Historical Railroad Association Bill Anderson, said that the turntable needs to cleaned about every four years or so. Dirt and debris was removed, and the wood was sanded, cleaned and prepared a primer coat. Metal fasteners, castings and components were painted as needed, and the turntable was adjusted for the correct alignment.
