The Folsom Jr. Peewees defeated the American River Jr. Raiders Saturday to improve to 2-0 on the season.

Davin Simmons scored both touchdowns and the defense pitched its second straight shutout.

The previous week the Jr. Peewees defeated the Grant Jr. Pacers, 13-0, with touchdowns from Mark Weldy and Jacob Cruz.

The defense didn’t allow a first down in the game and was led by Simmons, Weldy, Noah Lunday, Gavin Davis-Smith, Kaden Richardson, Sean Campeau, Jack Crandall, Liam Eviston, Logan Bingham, Dominique Novarro, Tyler Mackey, Dylan Jorge, Dylan Davis and Cruz.

The Midget squad is 1-1 after a 21-16 loss to American River following a 17-0 win over Grant. The Jr. Midgets improved to 2-0 with a forfeit win after beating Grant 16-14. The Peewee’s are also 1-1, losing 14-2 against American River following their dominating 39-0 win against Grant. After losing to Grant 13-7, the Mighty Mites bounced back to beat American River, 38-0.
