Food bank's cupboards are bare
Reader input
The Twin Lakes Food Bank is experiencing a summer slump this month. Even though we are serving more people due to the high unemployment rate, we are running low on food at this crucial time of need. We are asking the community to shop and drop food off this week and in the weeks to come. Needed items are as follows: Canned soup, canned fruit, tuna, canned main dish, pasta, ramen noodles, cereal, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, crackers, canned vegetables and baby food. Our sincere appreciation to all our caring friends in the community who make it possible to put food on the table for more than 2,000 people each month. About 800 children are included in that number. To learn how to donate, call (916) 985-6232 or visit twinlakesfoodbank.org. Kathy Boone, director, Twin Lakes Food Bank, Folsom
