A passerby reported seeing a fire burning inside C & T Welding, 130 Elm Ave. in Auburn, at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

A total of four engines from Auburn City, CalFire and Newcastle fire departments responded to the business. No one was reported to be inside.

Darin Nelson, fire captain with CalFire, said the small blaze was confined to the interior and extinguished near a possible trash can.
