Today's Sacramento Major Newspaper has an article about the wonders of the Suisun Marsh. You don't need to travel that far to enjoy many of natures creatures.
All you need is the time and your 2 feet to take a walk along some of the trails that run through Folsom.
You might encounter an Acorn Woodpecker high in an oak tree or some Valley Quail scratching in the gravel at the trails edge. if you take your time you might see a resting Dragonfly. There is an abundance of Black Phoebes looking for bugs. In the ponds you will find Mallard Ducks and Great Egrets. Look up and you will see Mocking Birds perched high in the tree tops looking over everything. White-Crowned Sparrows like the brush along the trails.
Gray Squirrels scamper around in the oak trees looking for some to eat.
Even in this hot weather you will find flowers in bloom. The trails are free to use and in this day and age there are not many things that are free.
