Folsom Jr. Bulldogs Mighty Mites Folsom 32, Del Oro 0 Luke Simmons and CJ Hutton had two touchdown runs apiece longer than 40 yards and Cy Watson had one. Adam Crandall caught a 2-point pass conversion. The offensive line and tight ends were excellent. Defensively, the Jr. Bulldogs shut down a tough offense led by Alex Wong, Brady Huddlestun, Hutton and Harrison Craft. The Jr. Bulldogs finished the season with six shutouts, allowed only 32 points (fewest points given up in the league) for the year and averaged giving up 51 yards per game. The offense has averaged 27 points per game and 321 yards.The 7-2 Jr. Bulldogs open the playoffs on Saturday. Jr. Peewees Folsom 22, Del Oro 0 Mark Weldy scored all three touchdowns in the game, while Garrett McClure, Noah Lunday, Cole Saxen, Kaden Richardson, Tyler Mackey, Connor O’Brien, Max Simmons and Dylan Davis blocked well. Davin Simmons and Dylan Jorge also had long runs. Liam Eviston, Logan Bingham, Gavin Davis-Smith, Robby Wong, Dylan Jorge, Jack Crandall and Sean Campeau led the defense and Luke Wolger recovered a fumble. Folsom, 8-1 on the year, opens the playoffs on Saturday. Vista Jr. Eagles Jr. Peewee Vista 40, Pioneer 0 Will Carrey, Stephen Ewey, Levi Burnett, Cheyne Gitsham and Jacob Vencer rushed for touchdowns in the win. Gitsham also caused two fumbles, one of which was recovered in the end zone by Jack Goyeau for a score. Ewey also kicked two extra points. Mitchell Northcutt, Preston Shephard, Michael Dias, Nico Nunez, Saxton Brown, Gabe Marcki and Christian Fiori all ran the ball well. Jackson Mcfarland, Cristofer Gore, Liam Rooney, Cole Eirstedt, Jake Harvey, Brown, Burnett and Goyeau made all the rushing yards possible. Peewee Vista 33, Pioneer 12 The Jr. Eagles dominated on both sides of the ball. Ryan Hicks threw touchdown passes to receivers Jason Carrey and Dominic Baciocco. and also ran for a score. Running backs Tanner Sims and Matthew Ross both had touchdowns and Owen Gitsham ran for 100 yards. Extra point catches by Grant Jas, Parker Clayton and Baciocco topped of the offense. The offensive line played well. James Viet recovered two fumbles, while Andrew Coklley, Nate Trujillo, Patrick Snyder, Dominick Norris, Branden Funk, Viet, Joey King and Hunter Corbitt made some big tackles on defense. Jr. Midgets Vista 33, Pioneer 0 Three minutes into the game Jake Jeffrey had three touchdowns on two offensive plays and a punt return. Jacob Norville intercepted a pass and returned it for a score and later scored on a bootleg. The defense was relentless, recovering three fumbles to go with an interception and keeping the Jr. Patriots pinned down all day. Ney Vencer, Dylan Hackett-Andrade and Ryan Van Saun were leaders on defense. Midgets Vista 36, Pioneer 0 Bradley Rittenhouse scored three touchdowns, while Ryan Wert threw two touchdowns to Tyler Steinlein. The offensive line had great push the whole day and Tylor Rhee and Michael McMahon had some strong runs. The defense had four to five players on the ball every play. Eric Friessen and Caleb Mack had interceptions. Defensive leaders included Gary Heal, Brandon Mulks, Wyatt Brandt, Austin Palmieri, Eric Friessen, Anthony Garcia, Daniel Morgan, Steinlein and Brad Funk, while Funk also recovered an onside kick.
