Youth football players to represent Folsom in all-star game in South Carolina

Three youth football players from the Folsom Jr. Bulldogs have been selected to play in the East-West All-American Football Championships on Dec. 31. The championship games will be played on Friday in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The games will be televised on ESPNIII. CJ Hutton, 8, Davin Simmons, 10, and Grant Appleberry, 12, will participate in their respective bowl games to be played in Myrtle Beach, SC. Hutton played running back for the Sierra Youth Football Championship Mighty Mite team, which finished the season with a 10-2 record and a win over Lincoln. Simmons was a quarterback and running back for the Folsom Jr. Peewee team, which also won the Sierra Youth Football Championship with a win over Rocklin. The Jr. Peewee finished the season with an 11-1 record. Appleberry was a running back for the Jr. Midget squad that finished the season with a 10-2 record. The boys tried out for the team over the summer at a camp in Davis and found out about a month ago that they had been selected to play in the game.
