Woodcreek is host for Major TOC at Mahany

Roseville-area youth baseball teams have had a week to enjoy their regular-season success. Now, it’s on to the District 54 Tournament of Champions.

Eight local teams will compete in the Major TOC and four in the Junior TOC, and it will go quick. The championship games are scheduled for Thursday night.

B squads from Maidu and Woodcreek — both are called the Giants — will throw the first pitch at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 18, to open a full day of action at Mahany Field. The Lakeside Cardinals meet Ponderosa’s A team at 1 p.m. The winners will advance to the round of 16 on Monday.

Also Saturday, the Roseville West B Red Sox meet Gold Rush B of Placerville at 4 p.m. and the Maidu A Padres play the Roseville West A Giants at 7 p.m.

At Mann Park in Folsom, the Woodcreek A Padres play Lakeside B at 1 p.m. Saturday.

The winners advance to the quarterfinals at 5 p.m. and 7:30 Tuesday at Mahany and Mann. The semifinals are at 7 p.m. Wednesday with the championship game scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at Mahany.

In the Junior TOC, Maidu opens with Folsom American at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Lembi Park in Folsom, and Lakeside plays Folsom National at 5 p.m.

On Monday, Roseville West meets Snowline of Pollock Pines at 5 p.m., and the Woodcreek Red Sox play Gold Rush at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
