PLACERVILLE — The case of a Cameron Park man accused of killing his wife has once again been postponed. Todd Winkler, 45, made a brief appearance Thursday in El Dorado County Superior Court along with his retained attorney David Weiner for what was to be his preliminary hearing. Winkler is accused of stabbing his wife, Rachel Winkler, in the neck with a pair of scissors, fatally injuring her in their Cameron Park home Feb. 27. He has pleaded not guilty to the charge and contends he acted in self-defense. He claims he wrestled the scissors away from her as she tried to stab him. Their young children were home at the time of the incident. Rachel Winkler was the manager for the Cameron Park Air Park. The hearing to determine if there is sufficient evidence to hold Winkler over for trial was originally set for late August. It has now been set for 2 p.m. Oct. 30. ~ Penne Usher
