Vista volleyball team improves to 3-0 in Sierra Valley Conference

Coming off a 3-2 loss to Oak Ridge Monday, the Vista del Lago volleyball team rallied to win two league matches, improving to 3-0 in the Sierra Valley Conference and 5-4 overall.

The Eagles defeated Golden Sierra Tuesday, 25-16, 25-19 and 25-19. Daniel Deloney had a strong offensive games with 14 kills. Griffin Galvin added seven kills, while Mitch May and Patrick Reinking had six. Hunter Ales and Connor Tevenan aided the hitters with 29 and 14 assists, respectively.

Defensively, Tevenan and Kyle Themely each had three blocks, while Galvin had 18 digs and Deloney made 10.

On Thursday, the Eagles defeated Union Mine 25-9, 17-25, 25-21 and 25-11. Tevenan led the way with 12 kills, followed by Galvin’s 10 and Deloney’s seven. Ales made 31 assists and Galvin made 12 digs. Shawn Gorman and Tevenan both had eight digs.
