Emily Cooper turned in the best performance for Vista del Lago’s track and field team at the Stanford Invitational on March 26-27. The 4x400-meter relay team of Tsuboi, Madeleine Ankhelyi, Rachael Lahr and Cooper placed eighth in 4:05.81, while Jessica Sampson and Courtney Coates joined Tsuboi and Cooper in placing 15th in the 4x100-meter relay in 51.22. Marissa Leung placed 18th in the pole vault at a height of 9 feet, 6 inches, while the distance medley team of Marissa Mendez, Coates, Jennifer Arbaugh and Ankhelyi also finished 18th in 12:57.60. The boys distance medley team of Matt Winkler, Bobby Melchin, Riley Martin and Ian Kennedy took 19th in 10:58.06. Lahr and Sampson both competed in the long jump as well, as Lahr took 25th in 15’7” and Sampson finished 28th with a leap of 15’4”. “As a group these performances were very good and these athletes represented Vista del Lago well,” Vista coach Mark Bosse said.
