Nicole Erlichman will be jumping, tumbling, stunting at the University of Oregon next fall. Erlichman, 17, is in her senior year at Vista del Lago High and she recently earned a partial scholarship to attend Oregon and be a member of the team’s acrobat and tumbling team. She’s already wearing her Oregon Duck wardrobe. “I was up there visiting last month touring the campus and the coach pulled me aside and offered me a scholarship and a spot on the team,” Erlichman said. “I was surprised and relieved. I’m so excited. I’m looking forward to spending four years there.” Erlichman has eight years of gymnastics experience and has been a cheerleader all four of her years at Vista del Lago. She also is an instructor for the Folsom Vista Jr. Bulldog cheer squad and coaches tumbling at Power Cheer in Rocklin. “Acrobatics and Tumbling is pretty much run like a gymnastics competition,” Erlichman said. “There’s tumbling, they have a stunt group, a pyramid section and a routine consisting of jumping, tumbling and stunting.” Erlichman initially wanted to be a gymnast in college, but now acrobatics and tumbling is where she wants to be and she said it couldn’t be a better fit.
