Tanner Trosin said throughout the season that he doesn’t care about statistics. It’s his incredible numbers, however, that got him mentioned in the Dec. 12 edition of Sports Illustrated in the Faces in the Crowd section of the magazine. As Folsom High’s quarterback, Trosin racked up a state record 5,185 passing yards and combined with his 1,179 rushing yards, Trosin also set the state’s all-time single season all-purpose yards leader with 6,364 yards. Trosin, however, would have much rather been in the magazine for leading his team to a section championship and possibly a state championship. What’s his reaction to being in the national magazine? “It’s pretty cool. I didn’t even know I was in it until a friend posted it on my Facebook page,” he said. Trosin said the numbers he accumulated this season hasn’t really sunk in yet, including his Northern California record 601 passing yards in one game, a 49-46 win over Deer Valley. “I’m thankful that I had a good year,” Trosin said. “Even though it was a rough ending, it was still an incredible season.”
