Transient found dead in a rural Folsom locationBy: Laura Newell, Features Editor
Folsom police officers located a dead body in a wooded area in Folsom last night, and say nothing suspicious was found after initial investigation.
At 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, officers were dispatched to a rural location in California State Parks jurisdiction, near Folsom Blvd. and Blue Ravine, regarding a possible dead body.
According to Sgt. Jason Browning, with the Folsom Police Department, officers arrived and located a deceased male, who appeared to have been a transient and died at least two months ago.
There were indications the man lived at a semi-permanent campsite where he was found, Browning said.
“There was nothing suspicious discovered in the investigation, and investigators will await notification from the coroner regarding cause of death,” Browning said.
