EL DORADO HILLS CA - There is something relaxing about walking through a beautiful garden while sipping on lemonade and the public is invited to do just that May 19 and 20. Six private homes in El Dorado County have opened their gardens to the public for two days only from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Assistance League of the Sierra Foothills is holding the Gardens of the Hills tour that features homes in Serrano, Sterlingshire and Promontory. Debra Bogowitz, an Assistance League member, said the gardens on this year?s tour are amazing. ?Come out and tour the gardens for an over-the-top wow experience,? she said. The featured gardens are each unique ranging from a rock garden to an English and manicured yard. ?For the rock garden, they?ve done extravagant things with rock art,? Bogowitz said. ?The English garden will take you back to London.? There is also a lake view garden that overlooks Folsom Lake, a serenity garden and ?the finished garden, which is very manicured,? she said. Art will be for sale at some of the locations and refreshments including home backed cookies and lemonade will also be offered. April Henderson, who recently moved to the El Dorado Hills area, said she hadn?t heard of the event, but it sounded intriguing. ?We just moved up here and are trying to upgrade our yard,? she said. ?This might be a good way to get ideas. That or I will just be jealous that the gardens are awesome.? The Assistance League will have a booth set up with club information as well as information about the event sponsors, Pottery World, El Dorado Saving Bank and Green Acres Nursery. Tickets for the garden tour are $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under and can be purchased at the California Welcome Center in El Dorado Hills? Town Center. * * * Gardens of the Hills tour When: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 19 and Sunday, May 20 Where: Six private homes in El Dorado County Cost: $20 for adults, $10 for children 12 and under Tickets and info: Visit the California Welcome Center in El Dorado Hills?
