Want to learn about an extraordinary group of teenagers?

From 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21 in the multi-purpose room at Folsom High School, Team Believe and Achieve, a group of nine local teens who competed in the Race Across American last summer, will tell their story and a 45-minute documentary will be shown of their experience.

This group of local teens is the youngest to ever compete in the race and finished ahead of several adult teams, but the main drive behind the event was to raise money and awareness to organ donation. Folsom resident Connor Ellison, who previously competed in the Race Across America on an adult team, decided to put together a junior team of friends.

Organ donation is an important issue to Ellison, who has a liver disease and might someday need a transplant. He will tell his story on Feb. 21, followed by a showing of the documentary. Members of team Believe and Achieve will then be on hand for a brief question and answer period following the documentary.

Cost for the evening’s event is $5. Any questions can be directed to Jared Ellison at jared@teamdonatelife.com.
