Sierra Valley Storms 10, 12 and 14-year-olds baseball teams continued their torrid pace through this year?s PONY Baseball All-Stars, as all three teams won their respective regional tournaments, setting them up for the next round and a step closer to the big dance. In Pinole, the 10U Storm team made their way to championship Sunday having to beat Vacaville twice to take home the banner. Dominant pitching led the way and with a little help from the long ball, the 10s pulled it out, 11-2 and 7-4, to take the title. Their next stop will be the Super Regions in Ceres, with a chance to play on the West Zone tournament in Southern California on the line. The 12s breezed their way through their regional in Vacaville outscoring opponents 83-2 in four games. In their first two all-star tournaments, they have outscored opponents 179-4. In eight games the team has thrown three no hitters, including two perfect games to go along with the onslaught of offense. The 12s now play in San Jose in the Super Regional tournament with the winner advancing to the Bronco World Series in Monterey, where they could take on the likes of Mexico, Puerto Rico, Taiwan, as well as the top Bronco teams from the US. The 14s remained red hot as well, cruising through their Regional going 4-0 outscoring opponents, 45-8. They advance to Los Altos, CA where they?ll take on the top 14U PONY teams from Northern California with a spot in the Western Zone tournament on the line.
