Scouts do good deeds to earn Eagle rank

-A +A
Boy Scout Troop 442 of Rancho Cordova held a Court of Honor on Nov. 13, to recognize four boys who earned the rank of Eagle Scout. The boys are Blake Drennan, Ben Olpin, Dan Moreno and Andrew White. Drennan redesigned and reconstructed a trail at Blanch Sprentz Elementary in Folsom. He installed new drainage, bender board, and applied decomposed granite along the trail.  Olpin organized volunteers to help the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services. The Scouts also added safety stripes to the floor of the food warehouse and helped in the food distribution area. Moreno designed, constructed and coordinated volunteers to build a school bench and coat rack that sit outside the administration office at Blanch Sprentz Elementary. He was able to solicit much of the materials needed for his project from the Home Depot in Folsom. White helped remove non-native, invasive Arundo weed from the Humbug Willow Creek. The weed threatens the ecosystem. ~ Staff report
