After one season of teaching special education and coaching basketball at Vista del Lago High School, Steve Scott is moving on. Scott has accepted a special education teaching position at El Dorado High School, but leaves Vista on good terms. “It’s a district-related issue that comes down to the budget,” Scott said. “At this point in my career with two kids in high school closing in on college, it came down to security and the uncertainty with the Folsom-Cordova budget was rough for me. “El Dorado offered me some security and that’s what’s best for me and my family.” Scott directed a junior varsity basketball team to a 24-1 record and a league championship. Though him leaving Vista had nothing to do with coaching, he said it was still tough to leave the program.
