While musical acts kept adults entertained, water slides, bounce houses and a mechanical bull thrilled those of the younger set during Saturday in the Park. Approximately 3,000 turned out for the big event at the El Dorado Hills Community Services District Park. Larry Hennick, of Pollock Pines, said the party was a good one for the community. “The event is really nice,” he said. “It’s a great place for the kids to come out and enjoy themselves in a safe environment. We need a lot of these in the county.” Melanie Maciel, of El Dorado Hills, is a mother of two. “I think it’s great and the kids are having a blast,” she said. “I feel very lucky to have these things in our community. It’s a perfect day.” Sheri Masich, of El Dorado Hills, watched her two children play on the inflatable slides. “We like that it’s in the evening,” she said. “The kids are having (fun).” For 10-year-old Ethan Stuck, of Roseville, the kid zone was “the best party.” “It’s awesome,” Stuck said. “I think the bull ride is the best.” Josh Antonucci, of Pollock Pines, used the event as his birthday party. “I just turned 11 today,” he said. “It’s really run. The water slide was fun.” Roseville resident Willy Rossi, 11, couldn’t choose one activity he enjoyed most. “My favorite was the bull ride and the water slide,” he said. Bryce Petersen, 4, kept his father hopping as they played ball together. “My favorite part is the bounce house and slide,” he said. Debbie Manning, CEO of the El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce, said the event helped showcase the businesses in town. “What a great way to bring the community together,” Manning said. “Businesses get good exposure and the businesses are so supportive of the community.”
