PLYMOUTH, CA - Enjoy a day in the vineyard for wine tasting, gourmet food and live music and dancing, while also working to raise money and awareness on autism.

Lynda Clayton Productions and Families for Early Autism Treatment (FEAT) present Rock’in the Vineyard 2013 on Saturday, May 18, starring Grammy nominated guitarist Craig Chaquico and band along with saxophonist Charley Langer at Young’s Vineyard in Plymouth.

Langer opens the show at 2:30 p.m. with Chaquico following. Gates open at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $65 or $165 for a VIP pass.

Rock’in the Vineyard was created in 2010 by Lynda Clayton, a FEAT volunteer-supporter for more than 19 years. The event includes live entertainment, food, wine tasting and a live auction and raffle.

“The enjoyable day celebrates community, courage and hope for local families who face the isolating challenges of parenting a child with autism,” Clayton said.

Clayton first encountered FEAT parents at a bake sale in 1993.

“At the time, I was working as a radio personality on Y92 and aware that autism was unknown to the mass audience,” Clayton said. “For example, back then when I would say the term autistic disorder on the air – people thought I was saying, artistic disorder. These amazing moms had an impact on me and I realized they needed more than a bake sale. That year, I helped FEAT put on their first ‘Night of Caring Dinner/Auction’ and about 50 people came. We made it an annual event and it grew in attendance to more than 1,000 people.”

In 2010, Clayton was working on a project with Annette Young, owner of Young’s Vineyard in Plymouth, and saw potential for a different fundraiser.

“I was struck by how beautiful and inviting the grounds were and asked Annette if she would consider donating the site for a FEAT benefit,” Clayton said. “To my amazement, she said, absolutely. And from there ROCK’in the Vineyard was born.”

In its third year, the event has grown into a popular day filled with local wine, food and rockin’ music.

Chaquico has engaged and inspired three generations of music fans. During the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, he was a founding member, lead guitar player and principle songwriter for the multi-platinum Jefferson Starship/Starship. He then reinvented himself as an award-winning, million-selling solo artist.

“Craig is a passionate supporter of Families for Early Autism Treatment’s mission to provide education, advocacy and direct support to local families facing the daily challenges of Autism,” Clayton said. “He enjoys working with all of the wonderful volunteers who make this event such a great experience.”
