Looking for fun and entertainment to ring in the New Year? The Plaids are back in town and they are at Sutter Street Theatre in Folsom.

Sutter Street Theatre is hosting a special performance of “Forever Plaid: Plaid Tidings” on New Year’s Eve.

The show is a musical comedy based on the fictitious singing group The Plaids who perform harmonies from the late 1950s and ‘60s with a lot of laughs in-between.

The show has been playing to sell-out audiences and standing ovations throughout this month at Sutter Street Theatre. The performance on New Year’s Eve is at 9 p.m.

“When you arrive at the theater you will receive hors d’ oeuvres and complementary (sparking wine) or sparkling cider,” said Allen Schmeltz, with the theater. “After the show there is a party with the Plaids that includes more complementary beverages, food, and party favors. We will ring in the New Year at midnight. This evening is family friendly and the kids will love it as much as the adults.”

The cost is $30 for adults, $28 for seniors and $26 for children 12 and under.

If you can’t make the New Year’s Eve show, there is still time to see “Plaid.”

They have performances at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 28-29 and 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30.
