One of the region’s hot spots for dining and entertainment is hosting some special events this month, one of which pays a special tribute to those who have served our country. On Veterans Day, Red Hawk Casino will honor past and present members of the armed forces with a special gift, as well as bonus Rewards Club points. The holiday falls on Nov. 11, 2011, and will translate into members earning 11-times the usual point tally. The gift can be obtained by presenting military identification or by entering code “DD214” to the Rewards Club. The casino is also awarding one lucky patron a $25,000 Macy’s shopping spree. All rewards members will receive a free entry, with additional entries obtained with each 25 points earned from just after midnight on Nov. 19 through 8 p.m. on Nov. 20.  As far as special gaming events go, you won’t want to miss Red Hawk’s “$25,000 Autumn Spectacular Slot Tournament.” The buy-in is $99 and the top prize is $5,000, with a total of 100 other prizes. Those interested can call (888) 573-3495 or (530) 677-7000 to reserve a spot. Another special event will be the “$1 million Cash & Cadillacs” promotion. Members can receive up to $1,000 in free play, dining and gift shop discounts, and by spelling “SEASON” with their kiosk tickets, can win $100 and be entered into a Dec. 2 drawing for $15,000. Drawings will also be held each Friday, and two lucky players will win a Cadillac in a drawing to be held in January. Red Hawk spokeswoman Emily Cady said the casino will also host its regular, on-going promotions. “We have bingo every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning, with a $100 drawing for winners” she said. “We also have free slot tournaments on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., where you can win a share of $1,400.” Other regular, on-going events that will run through November include Red Hawk’s “Club 55 Promotions,” where patrons over 55 can earn up to $500 in Tuesday slot tournaments, “No Limit Texas Hold’em Bounty” tournaments on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m., and $25 buy-in blackjack tournaments every Tuesday at 5 p.m. There will also be the continuing “Lucky Tiger Pai Gow” tournaments, also at 5 p.m. on Tuesdays. The buy-in for that will be $25. Also running throughout the fall season will be the “$35,000 Pigskin Poker Party,” which will offer participants the opportunity for a spot in the 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event. Sports bettors will appreciate the opportunity to win big with the “$1 million Pro-Football Pick ‘Em” event. The chance to win $1 million has to do with correctly picking 205 out 246 games this season. As far as entertainment goes, the casino will continue it’s regularly scheduled “Country Sundays,” and will also host musicians that include Anne McKinney on November 20 and returning favorite Nathan Owens Nov. 8-10. Red Hawk is also a popular spot for dining during the month of November, with restaurants such as Henry’s Steakhouse offering a special menu for Thanksgiving. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., patrons can choose from entrees that include traditional carved wild turkey, beef wellington with a truffle madeira sauce, and California halibut. The casino owns and operates a total of five restaurants, one of which is a buffet.  For more information, visit redhawkcasino.com.
