Reader input: Child's rhyme teaches street rules

-A +A

Thought readers might get a chuckle out of the little rhyme taught to us elementary students during a safety presentation in the 1960s.

The beagle mascot, Knee-Hi, suggested we memorize the following: “When walking on a street where there is no sidewalk, right side – that’s the wrong side, left side - that’s the right side.”

As you can see, it’s still clearly imprinted on my mind and has been put to use many times throughout the years.
