Rancho Cordova Soroptimists participate in Soroptimist International’s major service project, the Women’s Opportunity Award. The program provides women who serve as the primary wage earners for their families with the financial resources to offset costs associated with their efforts to attain higher education or additional skills and training. The award can be used for tuition, books, childcare, carfare or any other education-related expense. This program, which begins on the club level, was created in 1972 to help women improve their ability to provide for their families.
The Soroptimist Violet Richardson Award is a recognition program for young women ages 14-17 engaged in volunteer action within their communities or schools. Each club gives an award(s) to young women whose activities make the community and world a better place.
Applicants need not reside within Rancho Cordova city limits, however applicants can only submit an application to one club. Please contact Toni Raney at 916-983-3561 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
