El Dorado County Animal Services is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the owner of a pitbull that reportedly bit a woman earlier this month. At approximately 4:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, an unidentified woman was walking along a trail near White Rock Road and Town Center Boulevard in El Dorado Hills when she was bit on the hand by a blond pitbull, authorities said. The owner of the pitbull was wearing an orange vest with black lettering and is described as a white male, 5-foot 8-inches to 5-foot 10-inches tall with a partial beard. The owner and the dog left the scene. The woman who was bitten sustained “minor injuries” but the bite did penetrate the skin. Animal Services would like to speak to the owner of the doge to verify that the animal is current on its rabies vaccinations to avoid the victim having to go through rabies treatment. Anyone with information on the dog or its owner is asked to contact animal services at (530) 621-5795. ~ Penne Usher
