Newspapers, businesses gather food for Roseville Galleria fire victims
Gold Country Media, of which the Telegraph newspaper group is a part, announced Thursday the Sacramento Kings will act as the newest community partner in the local canned food drive to benefit The Westfield Galleria Employees. The Placer County Food Bank will provide food donation bins at entrances to the ARCO Arena for the 7 p.m. games on Nov. 6 and Nov. 10. As part of the community-wide effort to assist the families affected by the Roseville Galleria fire, donations of non-perishable food items will be collected and later sorted and assembled into boxes for distribution to displaced workers at a community event on Nov. 13. Homebuilder, KB Home will donate $5 for every canned good collected by the area participants, up to $7,500, to the food bank. Gold Country Media is working with other builders, businesses and real estate professionals to coordinate this effort. Community partners include KB Home, Coldwell Banker, Eskaton Village, Lyon Real Estate, Century 21 Select, Timberline Realty, Keller Williams Realty, The Placer County Association of Realtors, Kraft Real Estate, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, Hurst Home Realty, Doonan’s Barber Shop, Sylvan Learning Systems and Math Masters.
