PLACERVILLE  CA - The Placerville fairgrounds will be transformed this weekend for the second Hangtown Halloween Ball.
Enjoy three days of music, hosted by Railroad Earth, with a lineup that includes Delta Spirit, The Del McCoury Band, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Blind Pilot and PickWick to name a but a few.
“There’s a good mix of music including Blue Grass on Sunday,” said Casey Lowdermilk, with Hangtown Halloween. “We have a bit of and Indy rock scene with Delta Spirit and some good local bands as well.”
Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe will be the Saturday headlining act.
“It’s a cool show with a tribute to the Beasty Boys,” Lowdermilk said. “It will be a fun show.”
All attendees are encouraged to come in costumes. The family-friendly event offers plenty for the younger crowd to do.
“We’ll have a kids’ area with crafts throughout the weekend,” Lowdermilk said.
For the inaugural event about 2,000 turned out, he said.
“It was really good last year. We are hoping for something similar this year,” Lowdermilk said.
Camping is available on site and there will be various activities throughout each day of the weekend-long event.
A spot has been designated as a family camping area that is quieter in the evenings.
Food vendors, with vegetarian options and ethnic choices along with roughly 30 craft booths, will be set up in the “music meadow,” Lowdermilk said.
There will pumpkin carving, morning meditation classes, yoga classes and other activities.
Shari Morris, of Placerville, said she saw all the activity last year at the fairgrounds, but did not attend. She may go this year.
“It sounds like a lot of fun with all the bands and people all dressed up,” Morris said. “I heard it was really good last year. I might just have to go for a day.”
Prices for the musical event vary depending on the number of days and camping option. Visit for more details.
