A Cameron Park man is in custody charged with suspicion of murder in the death of a woman found in her home in the Cameron Park Air Park. Todd A. Winkler, 45, is being held in the El Dorado County jail without bail according to jail records. Deputies were called to the home in the 3100 block of Aeronca Way around 10:30 a.m. Monday morning for a report of a deceased person, according to Sgt. Bryan Golmitz of the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department. Winkler was found on the front porch of the home in the quiet airport community and detained for questioning. “Based on the circumstances of the incident, sheriff’s detectives and crime scene investigators (CSI) were requested to assist in the investigation,” Golmitz said. Winkler was subsequently arrested and booked into the jail on a single charge of suspicion of murder. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of her next of kin. This is the first homicide in recent history for the area. More information will be published as it is made available.
