The Mad Dawg Wrestling Club begins its season March 9 and the season runs through May 27. The club is geared for the beginning wrestler, as well as the high school veteran. It’s for wrestlers in third grade or higher. Younger wrestlers may participate with permission from the club coaching staff. The staff includes coaches from Folsom and Vista del Lago high schools and both middle schools. The staff will stress proper wrestling technique and conditioning (stretching, running weight-lifting etc.). Practice will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Sixth graders and younger practice from 5 to 6 p.m., while experienced sixth graders and older kids will practice from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Practices will normally be held at Folsom High School, but there will be occasional practices at Vista del Lago. Cost is $65 per participant ($50 for each additional family member). Participants can register with the Folsom Parks and Recreation Department or at the practice site at Folsom High.
