FOLSOM, CA - Crews expect to have light rail running through the Folsom Historic District by Dec. 6.

An oak tree fell Dec. 2, severely damaging the overhead light rail power lines near Folsom Boulevard and Blue Ravine Road. Since then, Sacramento Regional Transit has offered shuttle buses to affected stops along the route.

Currently, riders can take shuttle bus service to and from the Historic Folsom, Glenn, Iron Point and Hazel light rail stations. The service will continue through Wednesday, Dec. 5. Light rail service between the Hazel Station and the Sunrise Station has been restored. Service on the Gold Line from the Hazel Station to downtown Sacramento, and on the Blue Line and the Green Line, is not affected by the service disruption in Folsom.

Transit employees continue to work to repair the damage, which was determined to be very extensive and requiring a longer period of time to repair. Numerous repairs are needed for a one-half mile section of power lines, traction poles and hardware. Once repairs are completed, Regional Transit will conduct testing to ensure that the system is operating properly and safely.
