Folsom Middle School wrestlers Tevenn Lewis placed fourth, while Conner Pollack finished sixth at the Tournament of Champions wrestling competition held Saturday at Del Oro High. Lewis competed in the 153-pound division, while Pollack wrestled at 83 pounds. The TOC is the final tournament of the season for middle school wrestlers and more than 500 athletes from Northern California competed. Also competing in the event but not placing were Tony Hernandez (95), Dalton Quinn (135) and Alex Hurliman (168). Derek Stiles had also qualified but did not compete because of an injury. The six qualifiers from Folsom Middle School were the most the school has ever had in the event, according to coach Tom Ward. This was tough tournament for us, but just to make it here is an achievement, Ward said. The other coaches (Ney Vencer and Quinn Pollack) and I couldn't be more proud of this team. They are a great group of kids.
