The Folsom Jr. Bulldogs Jr. Peewee football team played in a Western National Championship in Las Vegas Thanksgiving weekend and won two games to claim the title.

Folsom opened with a 48-8 win over the Bell Garden Lancers on Thanksgiving Day. The Lancers entered the game unbeaten and had only allowed 50 points all season. Having trouble defending Folsom’s spread offense, the Lancers quickly fell behind on touchdown passes from Brady Huddlestun to Chris Catalano and CJ Hutton.

Jacob Huntington also caught a deep ball from Jayden Meneghetti for a score.  Hutton and Huddlestun added touchdowns on the ground and Colby Diehl caught a touchdown pass from Meneghetti to complete the Bulldogs scoring.  Also of note were a long pass reception by Koby Murray and a 60-yard interception return by Cy Watson.  Drake Digiorno also  kicked six extra points.

Folsom then defeated the undefeated Las Vegas 49ers, 28-0, the following day.

Catalano and Hutton caught passes from Huddlestun for touchdowns.  Hutton added a running touchdown while.  Colby Diehl, falling out of his shoe, added the final touchdown run.  Digiorno kicked four extra points and Watson added another interception.

“I am very proud of these young men,” said Coach Troy Watson. “They continue work hard and impress. This tournament was the finishing touch to an outstanding season and lifetime memories by these boys.”
