People attending the Folsom Live this weekend will have a chance to play some blackjack, thanks to Jackson Rancheria Casino. Emily Tirapelle, special events coordinator for the casino, said that for the second year in a row, Jackson Rancheria will be putting on “California Casino Night” during Folsom Live. “We had such a great time last year,” Tirapelle said. “The response from the public was strong and positive. We’re glad to be a part of Folsom Live again.” The California Casino Night gives people a chance to enjoy the casino experience, she said. “We’ll have a large tent with a pair of blackjack tables inside it,” Tirapelle said. “People can come in and try their luck at blackjack. It’s all about fun.” She said that people can come in and try their hand at winning Rancheria memorabilia, such as hats, backpacks, card decks and other items. “It’s fun, strictly for fun,” Tirapelle said. “We want people to stop by and enjoy themselves and have a chance to win some prizes.” Annette Manz, of the Folsom Chamber of Commerce, said that the Rancheria partnered with the chamber a few years ago. “The Rancheria wanted to be active in the community (of Folsom),” Manz said. “That’s how this partnership formed and I feel a lot of people have benefited from it.” Tirapelle said she was pleased by the turnout the California Casino Night had during last year’s Folsom Live event. “We had people coming in who’ve never been in a casino or even gambled,” she said. “People had a good time. It was fun even for people who regularly visit casinos or gamble.” Manz said it was a good addition to have the Rancheria as a vendor during Folsom Live. “We have many different vendors being a part of Folsom Live throughout the weekend,” she said. “While it’s an entertainment venue that people can enjoy during Folsom Live, it’s unique from the other venues.” Tirapelle said the casino venue is open for ages 18 on up and will operate between the hours of 5 and 9 p.m. Manz said that she expects that the Rancheria and California Casino Nights will be mainstays among other Folsom Live vendors. “People had a great time last year,” she said. “I think they’re a great addition to our Folsom Live family.” To learn more, visit FolsomLive.com.
