The Folsom U15- Hawks and U13-Falcons won big this week while the varsity and junior varsity teams were off. The Hawks won both games this weekend improving their record to 8-2. Jeremy Sommer had six goals and Tim Bonnington added three goals combined for both games. DJ Lundberg Wilson and Dean Wightman each had big defensive stops. The Hawk goalie, Bradley Winkleman played well. The Hawks travel to El Dorado on Friday and are at home against Pleasant Grove on Saturday. Folsom’s youngest lacrosse team took on the Fair Oaks Colts on Saturday and came away with a decisive 8-0 win. With this win, the Falcons record improved to 10-1. This was the third meeting between these clubs this season. Although the Colts had prepared for the match with a much improved defense, they were no match for the Falcons’ potent offense. “The boys worked well together today,” coach Jason Browning said. “Their passing was crisp and accurate. They have worked very hard and have improved significantly over the course of the season.” Hunter Jorgenson played exceptionally, scoring three goals. Ethan Sclare scored his first two goals of the season while the team’s scoring leaders, Bradford Petchauer and Chase Browning, scored two and one, respectively. Blake Sorensen stopped all four of the Colts shots on goal. The Falcons shot 28 times on goal. The Falcons demonstrated their lacrosse skills earlier in the week with a 10-5 victory over the El Dorado Hills Trojans. Matt Holden led the scoring with three goals followed by Taylor Koontz with two. Browning, Petchauer, Jorgensen, Joseph Patterson and Dakota Chaplin each scored one goal. Browning and Jorgensen each had three assists, while Koontz and Alex Miller had one each.
